Seam - Headsparks

I picked this CD up at Used Kids Records here in Columbus a few months ago, and have been constantly playing it in the car..I had heard The Problem With Me and thought it was great so made a blind purchase with this album while really knowing little about Seam. I've been meaning to upload it forever and put it on here and just finally got around to it. So here you have it, this is Seam's debut LP released in 1991 by Homestead Records. Seam were out of Chapel Hill, NC and quickly moved to Chicago and teamed up with Touch and Go. This is slow indie rock from the early 90's, similar to bedhead or codeine in a way. I've been listening to this a bunch! (20 years too late)

The Pine - Homeless Life 7"

A really good friend of mine introduced me to The Pine years ago and I'm proud to say I just about finished my Pine record collection recently with the additions of the self titled 7" and LP. I really cant even pick a favorite record out of all of them, but this is a sweet 7". For fans of evergreen for sure.. maybe even the hated. I really hold this band close to my heart! enjoy!

Black Tambourine

Early 90's slumberland, this specific album was put out by slumberland in the early 2000's, entitled "complete recordings". ex velocity girl and whorl. reminds me a bunch of early lush. this band also pretty much sounds like vivian girls way before they exsisted and i'm sure this and lush is where they got the sound..

GREYMACHINE - Disconnected

I can't even describe how stoked I am that Justin Broadrick of Jesu/Godflesh and Aaron Turner of Isis came together to form GREYMACHINE and put out the heaviest release of 2009. Disconnected will make your ears bleed while being absolutely dismal and tumultuous. This album is meant to be played at 11, but it could only be completely fulfilling seeing them live. It could possibly have something to do with this windy cold front coming through Ohio, and the dark clouds rolling in, that this album sounds absolutely perfect to me right now. So sit directly in front of your speakers and rip the fuck out of your bong while blocking out the rest of the world for an hour, you won't be disappointed, or maybe you will...

The Hated Unreleased Tracks

I really don't know much about The Hated, only that they were a punk band formed in Annapolis, Maryland in 1985, disbanding in 1990. This might not be the best place to start, but if you were already a fan of The Hated you will probably enjoy these rare unreleased tracks. Most of the tracks are acoustic or outtakes. Truly an amazing band!

Christian Death - Jesus Points the Bone at You?

Simply put, "Jesus Points the Bone at You?" is a compilation of singles from 1986-1991 released by the LA deathrock band Christian Death. Fronted by Rozz Williams, the innovator of death rock, Christian Death formed in 1979 when Rozz was 16 years old. Christian Death was a double entendre of the fashion designer Christian Dior. Christian Death are still playing shows despite having 30+ lineup changes including Williams since they started 30 years ago. At one point in time the band was completely broken up and Rozz Williams joined forces with 3 members of Pompeii 99, including Valor Kand to start back up under the Christian Death name. When Rozz quit the band shortly after in 1985, Kand and the rest of the members carried on as "Sin and Sacrifice of Christian Death". By the second European tour, they decided to return to the name Christian Death. Kand would continue on in the other formation of Christian Death even after Rozz Williams got the original band back together. Rozz would release two albums before hanging himself on April 1, 1998, possibly as an April Fools joke. These are the singles released by Valor Kand right after Rozz first left the reincarnation of Christian Death.

R. Stevie Moore - What's The Point?

R. Stevie Moore is an underground recording legend who has recorded over 400 lo-fi DIY albums. Moore began recording in his basement on a reel to reel tape deck back in 1966, and has experimentally covered a nice chunk of musical genres. Moore has even done an album with Half Japanese frontman Jad Fair (FairMoore). It is also obvious that Ariel Pink is highly inspired by Moore. This guy is seriously a genius, and I highly urge you to check him out!

Eric's Trip

Probably the best way to start this blog off!

Eric's Trip formed in 1990 in Moncton, New Brunswick. Getting there name from Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation album. They blare grungey noise pop and were the first canadian band on sub pop. This song is from the album Love Tara. They released quite a bit of material all of which recorded by themselves. They also released a handful of cassette EP's (which rule), good luck getting ahold of them! The chemistry between Rick White and Julie Doiron will give you goosebumps!
